Wild Life Photography

One thing I have never done till recently, is wildlife photography. I eventually decided to purchase a Sigma 150-600mm sports lens and put it to the test. As I had been using my Tamron 70-200mm lens and wanted that extra focus and range for other projects, I thought this would have been a great option for me.

I was proven right. This lens is a beast and the focus is just out of this world. What ever I set my focus point to, it just focusses in a blink of an eye. Mind blowing! But at the same time, any movement I make the lens quickly changes focus to the point. As this is my first experience with such a lens, I decided to head out to the reservoir and put it to the test.

A Double-crested Cormorant was my first victim. And although I am not use to the use of the lens and its capabilities, let alone the lack of experience on this baby, I am more than pleased with the outcome so far. Many plans come to mind and it's just a matter of time before I can finally enjoy sports, horse, and wildlife photography. The Guernsey Airshow in August comes to mind.

Happy days :D
